Varietal(s): 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
This monovarietal expression of cabernet sauvignon from the Valle de Santo Tomás highlights the extent to which the unique terroir of Baja California serves to create wines that are wholly unique. Many of the plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon that are used in the production of this wine were first planted by Dimitri Tchelistcheff, noted winemaker and son of the post-prohibition Napa Valley pioneer during his tenure at Bodegas de Santo Tomás. The wine is well-structured and balanced but is also surprisingly restrained in style and expression, highlighting the freshness of the fruit while also offering an underlying florality that is seemingly a unique hallmark of Cabernet Sauvignon from this part of Baja California.
